Poll Shocker Blows Up Democrat Talking Points

In a stunning rebuke to Democratic leaders, a new national poll shows that a clear majority of Americans still support President Donald Trump’s aggressive illegal immigration crackdown — even as Democrats, leftist media outlets, and activist groups pull out all the stops to turn public opinion against it.

The latest Marquette Law School poll, released Wednesday, found that 66% of Americans support deporting “immigrants who are living in the United States illegally.” Only 34% oppose the idea. That two-thirds majority flies in the face of an ongoing campaign by Democratic leaders and corporate media figures to demonize Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and undermine President Trump’s border enforcement strategy.

Even more striking, support for mass deportations has remained remarkably consistent over the past 18 months. According to the poll, eight of the last nine surveys conducted by Marquette between February 2024 and May 2025 have found at least 60% of voters in favor of deportations. The data proves what most Americans already know: the open borders agenda pushed by left-wing politicians is wildly out of step with everyday voters.

That hasn’t stopped Democrats from trying to change the subject. In a bizarre and widely criticized commencement speech last weekend, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz accused ICE agents of being part of a “modern-day Gestapo,” claiming they were “scooping folks up off the streets” and throwing them into “foreign torture dungeons.” The Department of Homeland Security issued a rare public statement rebuking Walz, slamming his remarks as “dangerous and false.”

Meanwhile, Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen made headlines by flying to El Salvador to personally plead for the return of a deported illegal alien — a man who, according to law enforcement, may have been a member of the violent MS-13 gang and involved in human smuggling.

But none of this anti-ICE hysteria appears to be making a dent with the American people. If anything, Democrats’ embrace of illegal immigration is backfiring. A CNN poll released last month found that 56% of Americans support mass deportations. A separate CNBC poll showed Trump with a +12 net approval rating on border security.

According to a recent White House report, illegal border crossings have plummeted since Trump returned to office. In March 2025, daily encounters dropped 93% from the Biden-era highs. The monthly total fell below 7,200, the lowest level in years. That’s a sharp contrast from the previous administration, which oversaw an average of 160,000 encounters per month — a number that peaked at 15,000 per day.

The sharp drop in illegal immigration and the wave of support for enforcement aren’t accidents. They’re a result of clear leadership. On Day One, Trump designated the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua and El Salvador’s MS-13 as foreign terrorist organizations. He moved quickly to reactivate deportation flights, reimplement the “Remain in Mexico” policy, and empower ICE agents who had been sidelined under Biden.

Democrats and liberal courts are still trying to sabotage the plan. Left-wing groups have successfully blocked the Trump administration from using wartime powers under the Alien Enemies Act to detain and deport foreign nationals connected to terror-linked gangs. But on Monday, the Supreme Court sided with Trump in an 8-1 decision, clearing the way for revoking Temporary Protected Status for over 300,000 Venezuelans.

Even with legacy media trying to hide the truth, it’s clear Americans aren’t buying the fearmongering anymore. Trump’s border policies are working. And according to the polls, the public knows it.

That spells bad news for Democrats in 2026 — and even worse news for sanctuary city mayors hoping voters won’t notice who’s really putting them in danger.
