A federal appeals court has ruled that Florida can continue to enforce a ban against sexually mutilating children with ghoulish surgeries and dangerous puberty-blocking drugs. Florida passed the ban in 2023 and it became law. Liberal activist groups immediately sued to stop it from going into effect. The appeals court says the ban can still be enforced as the case goes through the appeals process.
The law prohibits doctors from performing any genital mutilation surgeries on kids and also bans them from prescribing medications for sex reassignment. Even if the parents are liberal lunatics who believe that boys can turn into girls and vice versa with a pair of scissors and some duct tape, these procedures and medications are still forbidden. People don’t get to hurt kids in Florida because of this law.
You’d think that a law like this would not be necessary in the first place, but here we are. A district court had earlier imposed a stay on enforcing the law, but the appeals court reversed that. The appeals court also heavily signaled that the State of Florida will likely prevail over the trans activists suing to stop the law.
The court stated that Florida faced posing “irreversible health risks to its children” if the ban is not kept in place, which far outweighs the hurt feelings of trans activists. The activists claim that these ghoulish treatments and surgeries are “lifesaving care,” but there is simply no truth to that. No one is going to die if you don’t perform sex reassignment surgery on them. If that were true, wouldn’t everyone be getting these surgeries?
At least for now, Florida can continue protecting children from these dangerous treatments. It also looks like the courts will allow the law to stay in place. If you want to protect your kids from the trans agenda, think about moving to Florida.
