Appeasing Extremists: Harris Can’t Win Without Throwing Israel Under the Bus

Ah, the Democrats are at it again, bending over backward to appease their most radical voters. This time, it’s Kamala Harris, who apparently can’t even run a campaign without kowtowing to anti-Israel extremists. A Minnesota Democratic delegate, Asma Mohammed, dared to tell the media that Harris has no shot at the White House unless she promises an arms embargo on Israel. You heard that right—an arms embargo on one of our closest allies.

Mohammed, one of 30 “uncommitted” delegates heading to the Democratic National Convention, represents a faction of the party that’s more concerned with appeasing Hamas sympathizers than standing with Israel. She made it clear that without Harris promising a ceasefire and cutting military aid to Israel, the Democrats could kiss their chances against Trump goodbye. This is the direction the Democratic Party is heading—catering to those who are not just anti-Israel but practically anti-American.

Harris, who has been pandering to her party’s far-left, now faces pressure to lean even further left. Last week, her national security adviser had to step in and clean up the mess after she flirted with the idea of an arms embargo during a meeting with an anti-Israel group in Michigan. Harris is supposed to be a leader, but instead, she’s playing a dangerous game, risking the support of a key U.S. ally’s support to appease her party’s radical fringe.

And let’s not forget Mohammed’s enthusiasm over Harris picking Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz as her running mate. Why? Because Walz is apparently “movable.” According to Mohammed, Walz is someone they can manipulate to push their anti-Israel agenda. She was relieved Harris didn’t choose Pennsylvania’s Gov. Josh Shapiro, who had volunteered for the Israel Defense Forces—because that’s what matters to these delegates, not qualifications, but how much they can push around the candidate.

Over 40,000 Minnesota voters sent a message during the Democratic primary, casting protest ballots against Biden and sending 11 “uncommitted” delegates to the convention. Yet, instead of recognizing this as a sign of dissent within their ranks, Governor Walz praised these uncommitted voters as “civically engaged” and described the Israel-Hamas war as “intolerable.”

If this is what the Democrats consider “civically engaged,” then it’s clear they’ve lost the plot. The Democratic Party focuses more on appeasing radicals than leading with strength and clarity. The American people need to look hard at what’s happening here because if Harris and her party get their way, we’ll look at a very different—and much weaker—America.
