Trump Talks AI—Makes Shocking Prediction

During an exclusive interview from his Turnberry golf resort in Scotland, President Trump dismissed doomsday predictions about artificial intelligence wiping out America’s workforce. In his view, AI is a job creator—not a job killer.

Trump responded to a recent report suggesting AI could eliminate up to 50% of entry-level jobs, particularly in sectors like customer service, logistics, and administration. But instead of buying into the gloom, he said the AI boom would unleash a whole new economy built on innovation, efficiency, and expansion. “It’s going to balance out, I think, perfectly just by nature because we don’t have enough people,” Trump told Breitbart.

The president argued that America’s red-hot economy simply doesn’t have the workers it needs to meet demand. And AI, in his words, is going to “streamline” and “expand” the system—while creating entirely new industries that will need people to design, build, and maintain the AI and robotics infrastructure itself.

“We need robots,” Trump said plainly. “We’re going to need things like this to make our economy run because we do not have enough people. Plants are going up all over the country like never before.”

He added, “It’s going to be robotically… It’s going to be big. Then somebody is going to have to make the robots. The whole thing, it feeds on itself. I think it’s going to be a beautiful picture.”

This optimistic outlook from Trump is a stark contrast to the tech class elites sounding alarms about mass unemployment. Companies like Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google have warned of widespread job displacement, but Trump waved those warnings off as premature and short-sighted. In his view, Americans will not only adapt—they’ll thrive.

“You’re going to need jobs even more,” Trump said, calling the AI transformation “very good” and “studied very closely.”

Trump’s approach stands in contrast not only to industry insiders but also to former President Joe Biden’s administration, which often took a more cautious stance toward automation. Biden’s labor department frequently pushed regulatory frameworks for emerging technologies while downplaying the benefits of automation in critical infrastructure and defense.

In fact, Trump has already made moves to clean house. After a string of misreported jobs numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Trump fired the Biden-appointed BLS director. That shakeup came just days after his Turnberry interview and signaled that the administration is serious about cutting through economic misinformation.

Trump’s bold optimism about AI is matched by his America First approach to ensuring those jobs stay on U.S. soil. His team is already working on AI-focused trade and infrastructure plans aimed at securing supply chains, protecting American intellectual property, and fostering domestic innovation.

While many world leaders are approaching AI with fear and hesitation, Trump appears ready to embrace it fully—with one key priority in mind: American workers. “We were a dead country a year ago,” he said. “Now we’re worried about too much growth? I’ll take that problem.”

Expect more announcements to follow. The president teased that this interview was only the beginning of a broader rollout of AI-related policy from his administration, and promised more updates in the weeks to come.

One thing is clear: Trump isn’t slowing down. And in his hands, the future of AI might just look a whole lot more American.
