2025 is going to be a glorious and happy year for millions of Mexican citizens. They’ll finally be reunited with friends and family members in their homeland! To prepare for that wonderful event, the Mexican government is opening up dozens of migrant shelters to temporarily house them. The shelters will be opened and fully operational starting on January 20, which is coincidentally the day that Donald J. Trump will be inaugurated as the 47th US President.

There is a catch to being able to stay in the temporary shelters, however. You must be a Mexican national to qualify to stay in one of the shelters. Mexico’s government doesn’t want a bunch of damned foreigners coming in to wreck the joint.

The shelters will be temporary until they can stick the migrants on a bus and send them back to their hometowns. According to Baja California’s Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, shelters will be opened near the US-Mexico border to house people who are expected to start self-deporting on Trump’s inauguration day. Gov. Olmeda says they expect the Trump administration to be much tougher on illegal aliens this time, so they’re bracing for impact.

It’s smart to self-deport now while they still have the chance. It will be cheaper for them in the long run. Incoming Border Czar Tom “Families Can Be Deported Together” Homan is not messing around. Everyone should get their popcorn ready.

Gov. Olmeda says there will be six shelters set up in Tijuana, directly south of San Diego. Two more will be in Baja California’s capital city of Mexicali. At least 25 of the temporary shelters will be set up in Mexican border states to start receiving their repatriated citizens. We’re just happy that so many families are about to be reunited!
