How Did Chris Christie Buy a Luxury Beach House on His NJ Governor’s Salary?

Chris Christie served as Governor of New Jersey from 2010 until 2018. He drew an annual salary of $175,000 for that eight-year period. Immediately after he left the New Jersey Governor’s office, Christie suddenly began living in splendor. Now that Christie is running for president in 2024, people are starting to ask where all that money came from.
In 2018, the year Christie left office, he immediately bought a 4,000-square-foot luxury home on the Jersey Shore for $2.9 million. The home was described as a “summer haven with a sun-kissed sunroom and a serene backyard featuring a pool and spa.” It was an envious property, considering the fact that Chris Christie already owned a separate, six-acre estate in New Jersey valued at $2.1 million.
In 2016, Christie declared that it was “nobody’s business” how he had paid for the six-acre estate. When he bought the second luxury home on the beach in 2018, he never moved into it. Instead, he immediately had it demolished and had an enormous, 7,000-square-foot palace built for himself. It’s now valued at $5.5 million.
The newest Christie mansion is four stories tall and has multiple balconies. We’re guessing it has a heavy-duty elevator inside, because there’s no way Chris Krispy Crème is climbin’ all those stairs.
After he left his job as New Jersey Governor, Christie worked very briefly for ABC News, in a job that couldn’t have paid very much. He was paid $240,000 in 2020 by working as a lobbyist for pharmaceutical companies during the pandemic. He also wrote a book called “Let Me Finish,” but when New Jersey media outlets looked around, they couldn’t find a single person who had bought a copy or read it.
The whole thing is extremely fishy. Where did Chris Christie get all that money? And why doesn’t he want to answer any questions about how he can afford all these mansions?
