So, it turns out Nancy Pelosi’s been caught red-handed admitting she dropped the ball on Capitol security during the riot. Classic move, blaming others for your own mess and then getting busted. In the heat of the moment, Pelosi was like, “Why weren’t the National Guard there to begin with?” Well, Nancy, maybe because you were too busy playing politics to ensure proper security?

Donald Trump has frequently pointed the finger at Nancy Pelosi for the Capitol Riot, blaming her for the security lapse. Newly released video footage from House GOP investigators seems to support his claims.

Following the unprecedented breach of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi publicly acknowledged responsibility for the insufficient security measures in place that fateful day. Pelosi expressed frustration about the lack of National Guard presence, stating, “Why weren’t the National Guard there to begin with?” She further emphasized, “They clearly didn’t know, and I take responsibility for not having them just prepare for more.”

Pelosi’s daughter, Alexandra, was helping with a documentary for HBO about the Capitol Riots. In a twist of irony, her recording includes a clip of Nancy admitting she botched the security that day. This juicy tidbit has conveniently resurfaced, much to the delight of House Republicans. Naturally, this gem only saw the light of day after the House Administration Oversight Subcommittee pried it out of HBO’s hands.

Pelosi’s camp, of course, is scrambling to downplay it, calling it “cherry-picked out-of-context clips.” Yeah, right. Why take responsibility for your own mistakes when there is another scapegoat around?

Democrats have been harping on about Trump being responsible for security failures, but surprise, surprise, Pelosi’s own words come back to bite her. House Republicans quickly pointed out that the recording contradicts the narrative Democrats have pushed for years.

Additionally, a GOP report from 2022 highlighted congressional leaders’ hesitation, including Pelosi, to deploy the National Guard early during the 2020 Black Lives Matter riots due to concerns about optics.
