The first female vice president is turning out to be about as underwhelming as the first Black president; which is to say that they’re both quite the disappointment. As it turns out, just like what Martin Luther King Jr. told us in the 60s, the color of someone’s skin doesn’t actually qualify (or disqualify) them for anything.
Americans get to find that out the hard way with VP Kamala Harris who is taking her lunacy worldwide since being crowned President Joe Biden’s second in command (aka, first in line of succession when someone in the DNC decides to knock him off). Harris has also been deemed the “border czar” and is taking responsibility for what the entire nation can agree, is a complete disaster. But instead of going to the border, investigating what can be done about the migrant crisis, doing what needs to be done to shore up the defenses for border states from Texas to California, she hopscotched right down to Central America.
Turns out, the border between the United States and Mexico, where the problem is actually happening, is tired and overdone. Harris decided to head down to the countries where people are migrating from, up through Mexico, to tell them not to come(well, ish – keep reading).
So the nation’s vice president boarded a plane, handed out cookies with her face on them in what has become the PR move from hades, and went to Guatemala. Once she got there though, the fun started.
According to The Daily Caller’s coverage of the trip, once Harris landed to start her diplomatic-ish mission, she was met with protesters saying (get this) that their administration was a fraud and former President Donald Trump should still be president. The Daily Caller reported that some of the signs at the air force base said “Kamala mind your own business” and another read “Kamala go home.” Others said, “Kamala, Trump won” and “no constitutional reforms, Guatemala is pro-life.”
In other words, the woman boarded a plane, flew thousands of miles to a country that doesn’t even speak English as their primary language, and the same people who are putting their possessions on their backs and walking the thousands of miles to the United States, learned English, just so they could put little ‘ole Kamala in her place (to save you the trouble, you don’t have to check your URL, this isn’t “The Bee” this really happened).
The protests continued along the route of Harris’ motorcade as she made her way to where Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei met with her to talk about strategy and the demoralizing messages continued, according to what New York Post reported.
“Kamala Stop Funding Criminals #FueraDeGuatemala,” said another particularly interesting sign.
But since the good times were already rolling, Giammattei decided to pile on and say that the U.S. is facing a migration crisis at the southern border because of the Biden administration in an interview with CBS News Sunday (the same day Harris arrived).
To put this in perspective, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials reportedly encountered over 178,000 migrants at the southern border in April alone, and this year has busted through decades-old records for migrant activity along the border.
“We asked the United States government to send more of a clear message to prevent more people from leaving,” Giammattei told CBS News, pointing the blame firmly at the Biden administration.
However, instead of listening to what the president said and working to find a way to de-incentive the trip, Harris said on her trip, “The goal of our work is to help Guatemalans find hope at home,” Harris said. “At the same time, I want to be clear to folks in this region who are thinking about making that dangerous trek to the United States – Mexico border, do not come, do not come.”
So, we don’t want you to come, but if you do, we’ll work it all out. That’s the message that Harris loaded up in a plane and went all the way to Central America to say. Seems like a pretty long trip to tell migrants she’ll see them at the “same bat time, same bat channel.”
