AOC’s Dramatic Recount of the Effects of Jan 6 Capitol Riots Not Surprisingly Have Hefty Price Tag

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez isn’t any stranger to the dramatic and over-the-top declaration, and we, her loyal viewers, are no strangers to hearing them. But it still sometimes hits a little differently when we remember just how painfully young and inexperienced the New York Democrat is.

Such a reminder was doled out when Ocasio-Cortez made a PR move that many probably felt was a little too cringy to even be virtue-signaling. Despite the swing toward the importance of prioritizing mental health in the last few years, some still consider invoking that mantra to be just another tool in the hands of a master manipulator, which is clearly where AOC falls.

According to The Blaze, during an interview with Latino USA, Ocasio-Cortez called the events of the Jan. 6 Capitol Hill riots “extraordinarily traumatizing” and even went so far as to say that going through being in the Capitol at the time was something like using her dad at a young age.

“After the 6th, I took some time and it was really [Rep.] Ayanna Pressley when I explained to her what happened to me, like the day of, because I ran to her office, and she was like, ‘you need to recognize trauma and that this is something that you went through, but we’re all going through,’” Ocasio-Cortez said.

“I feel like I learned this the hard way after my father had passed away when I was a teenager,” she added. “That happened at a young age and I socked it away. I had to live with that for years.”

This stream of conscious type confession does a few things for AOC and the left. Firstly it grabs up whatever sympathy can be gathered to the party (and representative) that are constantly playing the victim.

Even if there wasn’t sympathy for those who inhabited a building but were never in real actual danger (reminder: no Representatives were harmed when millions of Americans marched on Washington in an attempt to preserve their constitutional Republic), AOC pulled a fast one, reminding listeners that she lost a parent at a relatively young age.

So now we’re supposed to see her as a poor defenseless girl who is still processing that trauma. And I say with the deepest sincerity; I’m grateful to have no idea what that is like and she well may still be processing, but if it gets in the way of representing her constituents, her voters need to seriously take that into account in 2022.

Since the trauma is apparently still ongoing, it can be talked about in the present tense. That’s the second trick; make sure that the one thing the left feels they can pin on the right and point to as a sign of instability, never goes away.

And last but not least, of course, this makes the case for retribution, which, at least in the legal system, is often tied to the trauma caused by the crime. In this case, AOC was quick to affirm that she is “doing therapy” over the trauma, saying that she believes former President Donald Trump left the Latino community on edge, as part of the cause.

“Oh yeah, I’m doing therapy but also I’ve just slowed down,” she said. “I think the Trump administration had a lot of us, especially Latino communities, in a very reactive mode.”

So there you have it, conservatives. You’ve made some poor therapist suffer through having AOC in their practice. Can you imagine if it were your job to listen to Latina Hillary Clinton complain about the people who offended her? That poor soul deserves a muffin basket.
