Dr. Moncef Slaoui is the Trump administration’s COVID-19 vaccine chief and he was given the chance to do some very important fact-checking recently. Joe Biden is already making insane remarks that need to be questioned. When he claimed that the current administration had no plan for the vaccine rollout, Dr. Slaoui knew he would have to clear the air.

“There is no detailed plan that we’ve seen, anyway, as to how you get the vaccine out of a container, into an injection syringe, into somebody’s arm,” Biden said recently. When the doctor visited CNN’s Jake Tapper for a State of the Union interview, he let the nation know that Biden’s claims were patently false.

“Slaoui pushed back on Biden’s remarks in an interview with CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday morning, arguing there is a detailed distribution plan but Biden’s transition team hasn’t yet been fully briefed.

Slaoui will be the latest top health official to meet with the Biden team as the transition gets underway. Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, agreed to serve as Biden’s chief medical advisor last week and met with the incoming administration,” according to CNBC reports.

Operation Warp Speed’s chief adviser also made an appearance on CBS, in hopes of reassuring the American public. Slaoui had another interview with Face The Nation where further details were provided. “No serious side effects” have been reported during the trial period. He also believes that the vaccine is going to last anywhere from two to three years.

This offers Americans the chance to enjoy the long-lasting protection that they deserve. “It’s absolutely vital that everybody take comfort in the fact that we have light at the end of the tunnel, and find the energy in that to continue to wear our masks, distance, wash our hands, pay attention to what we’re doing to make sure we’re there by the spring to benefit from the vaccine,” the doctor said.

Dr. Slaoui’s timely reassurances are arriving not a moment too soon. HHS Secretary Alex Azar, who appeared on ABC’s This Week, worked in tandem with the doctor to make sure that Americans are kept up to date. The vaccine availability is one of the most important topics of discussion right now, if not THE most.

Once the U.S. Food and Drug administration authorizes the vaccine, Dr. Slaoui believes that the first shipments will be sent out. Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be discussed later this month during a very crucial FDA hearing. Dr. Slaoui believes that there is a good chance both vaccines will be approved for distribution, based on the information that he has available to him.

The doctor has let us known that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, which is a good thing. Mitigation recommendations need to be followed until the vaccines have been distributed, though. There is no reason for people to ease up now. Our lives could start to look a lot more normal by the time springtime rolls around.

“I think we may start to see some impact on the most susceptible people probably in the month of January and February,” said Dr. Slaoui during his interview with Face The Nation. These types of announcements are very important right now. Lots of people have grown fatigued with the current state of affairs. That’s why we will leave you with these words of encouragement from the good doctor.

“But on a population basis, for our lives to start getting back to normal, we’re talking about April or May. Therefore, it’s absolutely vital that everybody take comfort in the fact that we have light at the end of the tunnel, and find the energy in that to continue to wear our masks, distance, wash our hands, pay attention to what we’re doing to make sure we’re there by the spring to benefit from the vaccine.” 2021 can’t come soon enough.
